connecting riads
aqso arquitectos office, detail of the external building facade, where the Moroccan-inspired lattice of the sliding panels screens on metal rails protects from the sun the generous balconies facing the boulevard.

the urban facade

The facade towards the boulevard has a series of balconies protected by sliding panels. These wooden shutters have a Moroccan tracery design that suggests a traditional reference to the contemporary design of the building.

the urban facade

office

The building envelope has a changing appearance thanks to movable panels that filter the sunlight and protect the balconies. In this way, the facade shows a dynamic and urban presence, as opposed to the domestic character of the large block courtyards.

The sliding panels are formed by modules with a metallic frame, on which a tropical wood tracery with resin treatment is inserted. The arabesque motifs provide a warm and delicate texture from the interior but a sense of depth to the envelope when the building is perceived from the street.

The panels, inserted in strips of random length along the façade, contrast with the white plaster of the walls. The railings of the balconies, made of laminated glass, are almost invisible, so the verticality of the panels stand out on the façade openings.
