For us, urban design is the overarching matrix into which streets, buildings, parks and infrastructure sit.
It must be thought of holistically, so the configuration of the public realm accommodates our behaviour and positively conditions our relationship to the city.
The city is defined not just by the character of its neighbourhoods, but also by the physical appearance of the built environment. Urban design elements like pavements, street furniture, green spaces, traffic systems and lighting strategies, must be considered simultaneously so that a coherent, welcoming and pleasant cityscape emerges.
