wave #11-S

The second annual issue of this independent publication about architecture contains a special chapter about experimental and sustainable projects.

The ‘nest shelter’ project proposed for the Duero riverside in Soria, the self-fab house in Colombia ‘harvest home’ and the ‘woven stand’ in Novosibirsk are the projects featured in this quarterly magazine.

woven stand

woven stand

This temporally building next to the Ob river is made of two free-form slabs wrapped together by an accessible skin. This tightened fabric façade is an eye-catching image and a permeable border, which turns the visit into an exploration of the object and its content.

nest shelters

nest shelters

To revitalise the neglected area around the river, the invisible social network of the city expands seeking alternative uses. The ‘nest shelters’ are modules that combine and accommodate the new settlers.

harvest home

harvest home

This experimental house, based on a traditional scheme, is realised with natural resources which grow abundantly in the area. Its slender shape becomes an organic element that mingles with the valley’s landscape. A bamboo shell, interwoven with a wicker mesh, creates a hard-wearing structure.
